Overall response rate of one treatment
In many studies, researchers are interested in evaluating a treatment or line of treatment, in terms of response rate, both complete and partial, after a certain period of time.
Examples: In the context of these studies, health professionals record for each participant whether, after a certain period of treatment administration, they show: complete response (CR), partial response (PR) or progression of the disease (Progression of Disease-PD), and then evaluate the treatment or line of therapy, in terms of overall response rate (CR and PR) that occurred.
The problem
In many studies, researchers are interested in evaluating a treatment or line of treatment, in terms of response rate, both complete and partial, after a certain period of time. For example, in the context of these studies, healthcare professionals record for each participant whether, after a certain period of treatment administration, they show: complete response (CR), partial response (PR) or disease progression (Progression of Disease-PD), and then evaluate the treatment or line of treatment, in terms of the rate of overall response that occurred (CR and PR).
The purpose
Indication of the effectiveness of a treatment in terms of overall response rate (CR and PR).
The solution
Using the appropriate statistical methodology (Descriptive statistics, Absolute and Relative Frequencies with the corresponding 95% Confidence Intervals), an evaluation of the treatment or line of treatment will be carried out, in order to allow the user to evaluate its effectiveness in terms of overall response rate (CR and PR).
The benefit
Healthcare professionals will be able to easily, quickly and without prior statistical knowledge, evaluate the effectiveness of a treatment they are interested in, in terms of the total response rate (CR and PR).
Indicative presentation of the data needed
- The first column of the data file must contain the code of the patients receiving the treatment the user is interested in (e.g. Unique Patient Code). In case there is no patient code in the user's data file, then in the first column he should add a serial number.
- The second column should contain the information about the response of each participant (e.g. 0: Progression of the disease, 1: Complete/Partial response) after a certain period of time of administration of the therapeutic treatment (e.g. 6 months).

System Prerequisites:
- Toolbox accepts xlsx or csv files.
- The variable denoting partial/complete response must not contain missing data.
Output:
After the data input by the user and after a short period for the automated analysis to be completed, a report of the results and the statistical methods used is extracted from the system.
